Amy S. Winters
Ms. Winters is a litigation attorney. Her practice focuses on the litigation of disputes involving Long Term Care, Business, Employment, Real Estate and Personal Injury.
Areas of Practice
Mr. Fohrman was a partner in two of the world’s largest law firms; Jones Day where he was the chair of the general real estate section on a world-wide basis. In 1992 he became a partner in White & Case. During his years with those firms Mr. Fohrman was a resident partner in Los Angeles, London, Hanoi and Tokyo. In Japan, Mr. Fohrman was licensed to practice law as a foreign lawyer (gaikokuho jimu bengoshi). Mr. Fohrman returned to his home in Sonoma County in 2003 and subsequently joined Perry Johnson. Mr. Fohrman is active in representing a number of companies and individuals in the wine industry in Napa and Sonoma Counties and several public corporations on transactions in California, other states and internationally.
Experience
Ms. Winters joined Perry, Johnson, Anderson, Miller & Moskowitz in July, 2016 as an Associate Attorney. Prior to joining the firm, she worked as a civil litigation attorney practicing personal injury law, including premises liability, products liability and sexual assault cases, as well as insurance bad faith, habitability matters, and employment disputes.
During law school, she worked as a law clerk for firms in Yolo County, Sacramento County, and El Dorado County, where she gained valuable experience from a wide range of civil litigation matters including personal injury, employment, municipal law, as well as real estate and landlord-tenant disputes. At one firm, she oversaw the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Department, negotiated settlement terms directly with clients and opposing counsel, and drafted and oversaw all settlement agreements.
Ms. Winters also clerked for a Judge at the Sacramento County Superior Court, where she drafted tentative rulings for civil law and motion matters.
Education and Memberships
Ms. Winters attended Wagner College where she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a concentration in Management and a Minor in Economics. Her senior thesis, entitled “Gender Stereotypes Supporting the Current Wage Gap,” was chosen from her graduating class to represent the Business Administration Department.
She received her Juris Doctor, with a Concentration in Business Law from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.
Ms. Winters is admitted to practice in the State of California and the Federal Eastern District of California.
Community Involvement
Ms. Winters was born and raised in Sebastopol, California. She is actively involved in the community where she grew up, donating her time to various local charities to help raise money for local organizations and food drives.
Ms. Winters is a member of the Sonoma County Bar Association. She is the secretary of the ADR Section and a member of the Communications Committee. She also serves as a board member of the Sonoma County Women in Law.
